How to create service with Object argument in Doors 9.5.1.2?

Hi,

I read the topic here

https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSYQBZ_9.6.0/com.ibm.doors.install.doc/topics/r_dxl_services.html

And now I need service that have Object (Doors Object) as argument:

void myFunc(Object newDoorsObject)

Object is predefined Doors type and I think that this is possible. Tell me if I am wrong. But then how to call such a service. Is this code relevant in this case? Or how to modify it:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

xmlns:doors="http://jazz.net/doors/xmlns/prod/jazz/doors/2.0/">
  <doors:Arguments>
  <doors:arguments>English</doors:arguments>
  </doors:Arguments>
</rdf:RDF>

No, you cannot use a DOORS native type as the parameter for the function. The function can accept only one string value. So you can send in your input as comma delimited values, or some other format which you can then handle within your function to manipulate further.

Created mention, continue typing for type ahead@SudarshanRao, can we use arrays?

Ok but I need to create a function that creates new Object, how can I call this OSLC DXL service if I can pass only strings? One object can have over 1000attributes,how to pass all of them?

Sorry, I don't have a better answer.. Frown

Maybe you can consider passing it as a json string, and then parsing it within your function.. From effort perspective, maybe similar to csv, unless you consider it as an advantage atleast in constructing the input string.
